The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is an attraction in itself.

In addition to the scenic vistas of rolling hilltops across lush green valleys dotted with the white spires of church steeples and red barns, to the village square and the old fashioned general store across the green from the bandstand, coming to the Kingdom is like traveling back to a simpler time when the pace of life was slower. The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is also spectacularly scenic throughout the camping season and simply breathtaking during the height of annual fall foliage.

Enjoy the many outstanding recreational opportunities here in the Kingdom, and many of them free!

Some of the best mountain biking trails in the Northeast are located right here on our miles of dirt roads and woodland trails where vehicular traffic is minimal, and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is now open! If you enjoy hiking and biking, checkout www.lvrt.org. The trail offers 100 miles of non-motorized recreation, it crosses the state from St. Johnsbury in the east to St. Albans in the west, and the best part is, it runs past our back door!

Fisherman will enjoy our 12 lakes, numerous ponds, and sparkling mountain streams as well as kayaking, canoeing and boating.

Skirting the lakes are beaches and parks that invite picnicking and lazy summer afternoons.

Golfers can enjoy a wide selection of courses (with reasonable rates) throughout the kingdom, with the St Johnsbury Country Club only a few miles from Sugar Ridge. And don’t forget our own 18 hole miniature golf course right here at the campground for hours of family fun.
